Insertion of penile implant

The insertion of the penile implant is a surgical procedure during which the implant is inserted into the phallus that was formed during your phalloplasty.

We are working with different implant models. The model, mechanism, and length will be chosen according to your anatomy and your preferences.

Some implants work with a pump mechanism that will provides rigidity to the implant. It is also possible to use a semi-rigid and malleable rod that does not require a pump.

This procedure can be performed 6 months after the construction of the urethra (Step 2) or 6 to 9 months after phalloplasty if the construction of the urethra was carried out at the same time (Steps 1 and 2). 

Limitation of the penile implant:

• The penile implant does not permit the phallus to stand or rise as high as a biological penis.
